Job Title: Incident Manager

Duration: 1-Year Contract with Potential for Full-Time Employment (FTE)

Work Location: Remote

 

Job Summary:

The IT Incident Manager is responsible for managing the IT incident management process to restore normal service operations as quickly as possible and minimize the impact on business operations. This role involves running incidents, facilitating team collaboration, conducting post-incident reviews, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Additionally, the Incident Manager will serve as a backup for the Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Incident Management: Develop and maintain the IT incident management process and procedures. Coordinate the resolution of incidents, ensuring timely and effective communication to stakeholders.

 

Collaboration: Get teams together to collaborate during incidents and facilitate after-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.

 

Documentation: Ensure all incidents are thoroughly documented and maintain records of all incident management activities.

 

Post-Incident Analysis: Conduct post-incident reviews to identify root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

 

Trend Analysis: Monitor and analyze incident trends to proactively prevent future incidents.

Continuous Improvement: Monitor the effectiveness of the incident management process and implement continuous improvement programs.

CAB Meetings: Lead Change Advisory Board meetings and ensure that all proposed changes are thoroughly evaluated for potential risks and impacts when the Change Manager is not available.

 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience: At least 10 years of experience in IT incident management and IT service management.

Technical Skills: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly convey information to stakeholders.

 

Certification: ITIL certification is a plus.
