- Do you have any additional upcoming hiring needs or is this request part of a larger hiring initiative? - Our team leads IT Category Management within Enterprise Procurement, supporting all infrastructure and security-related purchasing needs. This includes procurement and contracting for new hardware and software, renewals, and any associated procurement activities. We play a critical role in ensuring the organization has the right technology solutions in place, while maintaining compliance and cost efficiency.
- We are a small team managing a high volume of work with strong dedication and mutual support. Despite the workload, we maintain a collaborative and resilient culture. A key area of recent growth is IT Security, which has expanded significantly and presents exciting opportunities for innovation and team development. We're actively involved in strategic sourcing initiatives and cross-functional collaboration to support enterprise-wide IT needs.

Typical Day in the Role

- What makes this role unique? Day-to-day responsibilities: This role supports key business initiatives by partnering with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to lead contract negotiations and manage procurement activities. Responsibilities include:
- Manage new purchase needs by collaborating with internal teams to define business needs, working with Suppliers to obtain quotes and or issuing competitive sourcing events (RFI, RFP, RFQ).
- Develop value-driven negotiation strategies by leveraging historical pricing analysis, market research and competitive sourcing results.
- Manage contract renewals by collaborating with internal stakeholders to confirm renewal needs, aligning with Finance on budget availability, coordinating with the Buyer to initiate requisitions and purchase orders, and engaging external suppliers to secure quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure appropriate contractual protections and risk mitigation measures are in place.
- Reviewing, drafting, redlining, and negotiating a variety of agreements related to IT procurement (hardware, software, telecom, and security).
- Managing contract types such as software license agreements, Business Associate Agreements (BAAs), order forms, NDAs, SLAs, amendments, and addenda.
- Ensuring compliance with legal, contractual, and risk management standards. Leading pricing and contract negotiations for both tactical and strategic engagements.
- Performing other duties as assigned to support procurement operations.

- Effectively manage a queue of assigned tasks and respond promptly to all requests.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures.
- Conduct timely and professional contract negotiations with vendors.
- Maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and functional groups.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of Centene's contract standards and fallback positions.
- Exhibit initiative and ownership as a self-starter, consistently delivering high-quality outcomes.
