Core Mission:
TEKsystems' client is a national non-profit dedicated to removing the financial barriers between cancer patients and their treatment - such as loss of income, increased out-of-pocket expenses, and socioeconomic factors. When faced with these financial barriers, families have to make impossible decisions like choosing between paying for treatment or basic essentials like housing, food, and transportation. No one should have to choose between their health and their home - and we won't stop until that's the reality.
Position Overview:
The Data Operations Manager plays a critical role in building trust in organizational data and empowering staff to make informed, data-driven decisions. In this role, you'll create and enforce data policies, maintain organizational documentation, deliver high-quality dashboards and reports, and ensure our data systems scale with the organization's growth.
Reporting to the Director of Data Operations, you'll lead our day-to-day data operations, including governance, quality assurance, and reporting. You'll work closely with Salesforce Operations and collaborate with internal stakeholders to align data systems and reporting with program, fundraising, and evaluation needs. The ideal candidate pairs technical expertise with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You can translate complex, big-picture questions into effective data solutions. As a systems thinker with strong attention to detail, you understand how policies, processes, and tools can work together to build reliable and adaptable data infrastructure.
Preferred Tools & Technology: Google Suite, Salesforce, Qualtrics, Tableau, Confluence, Jira OR similar tools. (Agile project management methodologies a plus)
Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Governance & Quality Assurance:
Establish and enforce organizational data and reporting policies, procedures, and standards in collaboration with the Salesforce Operations team and cross-functional stakeholders
Monitor data quality and drive continuous improvements to maintain the integrity, accuracy, and usability of organizational data, including data entry protocols and pipeline enhancements
Collaborate with the Director of Data Operations to define and standardize key metrics, leading the creation and maintenance of a robust data glossary and supporting documentation
Represent the Data Operations team in cross-department initiatives, ensuring data and reporting considerations are embedded in organizational planning and decision-making
Contribute to strategic projects that enhance client's ability to effectively leverage data
Support on emerging departmental priorities and additional activities as needed

2. Data Collection & Reporting:
Design, build, and maintain dashboards, reports, and related data products to meet routine and ad-hoc needs for programs, fundraising, and leadership
Provide clean, reliable data to support impact reporting and program evaluation, including survey implementation, data quality monitoring, and report preparation
Partner with internal stakeholders to align data collection and reporting practices with evolving organizational needs, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
3. Staff Support & Training:
Act as a primary resource for staff on data literacy, reporting tools, and best practices for accurate and consistent data entry and usage
Develop engaging training materials, documentation, and workshops to equip staff with the knowledge and confidence to work effectively with organizational data and reporting tools
Cultivate a data-driven culture while empowering staff to confidently use data to advance the mission and continuously improve their work
Qualifications:
3+ years of professional experience, preferably in a nonprofit or mission-driven organization
Proven ability to develop and enforce policies, processes, and documentation that promote data quality and consistency across systems and teams
Experience designing and delivering dashboards, reports, and data products using tools such as Salesforce, Tableau, and Google Sheets
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and build trust across departments
Skilled at managing multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail, adaptability, and a solutions-oriented mindset
