The Role:
The Solutions Architect (YOU?!) are responsible for hands-on technical pre- and post-sale enablement, working actively with account managers to drive business within AE's Security & Network practice at new and existing enterprise clients. You aim to build strategy and vision while becoming a trusted advisor, partner, and point of accountability with client stakeholders.

You are brilliant at time management and dedicated to transparent communication. The Solutions Architect is a client advocate and an AE champion, you have an entrepreneur spirit, taking ownership of your clients and projects. You have experience successfully managing moving targets with a large number of assets.

You are enthusiastic about technology and are able to explain complex technical concepts in easy-to-understand terms. You will be part of team working to understand AE client's unique challenges and priorities with a goal of defining short and long term solution architecture. An equally important component of this role is the expectation that you continue to scale your expertise and knowledge.

A Day in the Life:
  • Work with client technical and executive audiences as a trusted advisor, partner, and as-required implementer with solutions covering enterprise security architecture, next-gen firewall, next-gen endpoint, cloud security, identity, wired and wireless networking, and security/network orchestration and automation.
  • Deliver a delightful client experience through personality, communication, and technical mastery.
  • Design and evaluate solutions across the Security & Network domain against client requirements including performance, availability, integrity, and TCO.
  • Provide engineering expertise in pre- and post-sale capacities.
  • Present solutions to and host learning sessions with audiences of varying size.
  • Build in-depth knowledge of client business and technical priorities, challenges, and initiatives mapping them to AE's core offerings and competencies.
  • Ensure proposed solutions, when implemented, meet client needs and functional requirements.
  • Work with account managers and vendor partners through solution validation, proposal generation, and quoting while developing client account strategies.
  • Research new technology, reflect on market direction, and develop new services and solution offerings.

What You'll Need:
  • Multi-disciplinary technologist with hands-on-keyboard experience in information security and modern networking. Additional practical experience with cloud architecture and automation are in your toolbox or on your roadmap.
  • Careful communicator who writes well and listens like an interpreter. You re-read written communication before sending or printing.
  • Actively organized individual exercising methods toward organization, task management, and note-taking.
  • Receptive to professional feedback, able to self-assess, and able to provide thoughtful feedback.
  • Comfortable and successful engaging someone who wears a tie, skirt, t-shirt, or combination in front of a whiteboard, at a podium, on a conference call, or during happy hour.
  • Deeply knowledgeable and experienced with at least one enterprise network security platform (Palo Alto Networks, Cisco, Fortinet, Check Point, et. al), one enterprise network route-switch platform (HPE-Aruba, Juniper, Cisco, Arista, et. al), and one enterprise wireless platform (HPE-Aruba, Cisco, et. al).
  • Enjoy rapidly gaining context and knowledge in new technology areas with minimal supervision. You likely have a personal lab within a cloud service provider, basement, or bunker.
  • Carry an innate or learned ability to accept requirements or documentation as input and output a slide deck or equivalent.
  • Ability to maintain or obtain certification in security, network, and cloud domains - as professionally required or personally interested.
  • Comfortable with travel throughout the state and enjoy occasional national travel to events and conferences with a team.
  • Active contributor to organizational culture, able to form and express continually curated opinions of your own.
