Job Description

An M365 Cloud Engineer implements, and manages Microsoft 365 solutions for organizations, focusing on collaboration, communication, and productivity tools. They act as subject matter experts, providing guidance on Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and more. Their responsibilities include designing solutions, implementing migrations, providing support, and ensuring compliance.

Cloud engineers serve as engineers with extensive technical knowledge of Microsoft 365 functionality and best practices. The ideal candidate for this role has an extensive working knowledge of Microsoft 365's capabilities, it's deployment within the organization. Key responsibilities of the role include maintaining an awareness of Microsoft 365 changes and the impact to the organization, leading technical projects involving Microsoft 365. Critical thinking, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and exceptional problem-solving skills are a must.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintains a deep technical understanding of all aspects of the organization's Microsoft 365 implementation
  • Includes 3rd party or Microsoft tools used in conjunction with Microsoft 365
  • Evaluates Microsoft 365 changes and updates and reports on impact to the organization
  • Leads technical projects related to Microsoft 365
  • Collaborates with and provides direction to Microsoft 365 technical leads and support resources
  • Participates in troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Identifies and documents Microsoft 365 standards and tools and support processes
  • Identifies, monitors, and reports on key performance metrics
  • Maintains awareness of Microsoft 365 roadmap and releases
  • Maintains an awareness of Microsoft 365 third-party solutions
  • Participates the development and support of the Champions program for extended support of Microsoft 365 within the organization's business units
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure Active Directory; Knowledge of Microsoft Cloud App Security; Familiarity with security concepts such as CASB, DLP, Conditional Access Policies

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field of study and 6 years of IT or consulting work experience and hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, Microsoft SharePoint or Exchange.
