Job Details

Role: Sr. EDI Specialist Specialty w/mapping/B2B skills
Location: 100% Remote
Duration: 6 month contracts

  • Project Background: MMS is closing a large, multi-phase contract with DLA (Defense Logistics Agency), which could span 10 years. The initial goal is to complete required EDI testing, specifically starting with the 824 transaction, which is not currently available in their EDI system. Success in this phase is necessary to earn the RFP and move forward.
  • Contract Phases: The first phase focuses on implementing the 824 transaction outbound, with later phases adding additional transaction sets (865, 860, 830, 838, and eventually 824 inbound). Each phase depends on successful completion and testing of the previous phase, with JDE system development as a prerequisite for EDI testing.

Must Have:
The biggest difference between the two will be Mapping experience. When someone refers to “mapping” or “mappers,” they’re talking about the process and tools used to translate data between different formats so that two systems can communicate seamlessly. EDI mapping is the process of defining how data from one system (e.g., an ERP like JD Edwards) is converted into the standardized EDI format (such as ANSI X12 or EDIFACT) and vice versa.

  • EDI System experience with a focus on Distribution documents (EG 850, 855, 856, 810, 867, 844)
  • Experience with JD Edwards and DB2
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator BP Modeler and mapper.
  • Experience with B2Bi
  • Experience with sFTP, FTP and AS2
  • Experience with SI mapper and ITXA mapper
  • Experience with connection protocols SFTP, AS2 etc
  • CL programming.
  • Data encryption for EDI
  • Working understanding of EDI terminology
  • Experience with leading projects
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
