Job Details

We are partnering with a leading end-to-end supply chain and manufacturing company to find a Senior Data Integration Engineer for their growing team. This company has experienced significant growth through strategic acquisitions and is looking for a skilled professional to lead their data integration efforts. This position offers a unique opportunity to define and lead the processes for integrating data from acquired companies' systems into the standard systems of our client s environment. The role focuses on developing repeatable, scalable, and expeditious methods for data conversion and integration.

This is a full-time, Direct-Hire position that will work on a hybrid basis (3 days per week on-site) out of their location in Exton, PA.

The Role You'll Play

As the Senior Data Integration Engineer, you'll be responsible for all aspects of data conversion and integration. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Performing analyses of varied source and target systems and their data models to facilitate effective data extraction, transformation, and loading from legacy systems to go-forward systems.

  • Collaborating with Business Analysts and Solution Architects for identifying and documenting data conversion requirements.

  • Strategizing and designing methods for effective, reusable, and repeatable data conversion processes.

  • Working closely with the IT development organization to implement data conversion designs.

  • Participating in the execution and testing of defined data conversion processes.

  • Identifying and solving data anomalies.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand data elements and perform data validation resulting from conversion activities.

  • Defining and continuously improving data conversion processes, best practices, and methodologies.

  • Developing business acumen related to Master Data, Transactional Data, and general business processing to enable effective discussions with non-technical personnel.

  • Assisting in defining data conversion project tasks and timelines, and executing against them.

Background Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise and business acumen, with a focus on data integration and conversion. Key qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience performing data extraction, transformation, and loading from legacy systems to go-forward systems.

  • Solid ability to dissect large and small relational databases and understand relationships between tables.

  • Proven leadership experience in designing and performing data conversions from varied source systems/files, including ERP, Accounting, Customer Relationship, Manufacturing, and Warehouse and Transportation Management Systems.

  • Technical skills including:

    • AS/400 based ERP (preferably S2K, JDA, or similar)

    • Exceptional Database Structure knowledge and Database Management

    • Strong knowledge of SQL and ability to write complex queries (T-SQL)

    • Strong experience with SSIS or other ETL tool (with a deep understanding of the ETL process)

    • Experience with ftp/sftp

    • Proficiency in Access, FileMaker, Excel, XML, Java, or similar technologies

  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • IT experience in Distribution and/or Manufacturing industries is highly desirable

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to describe complex problems and solutions in simple terms.

  • Ability to consider upstream and downstream process impacts and implications.

  • Proven ability to execute swiftly without compromising quality.

  • Experience in a virtual work environment, requiring high levels of independence and self-motivation.
