Job Details

Our client is seeking a proficient and dynamic IT Infrastructure Lead Engineer to oversee comprehensive management of their IT infrastructure. This role includes managing data centers located in Tampa and Ohio and supervising an infrastructure specialist based in Ohio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Center Management: Oversee operations of data centers in Tampa and Ohio, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Direct Supervision: Manage one direct report, an infrastructure specialist based in Ohio, coordinating activities and ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Laptop Provisioning: Expedite laptop provisioning for the Tampa office as needed.
  • Access Management: Maintain access to the data center located in downtown Tampa.
  • System Administration: Administer a predominantly MS Windows environment with 12 to 15 Linux servers and additional virtual machines on VMWare.
  • Patch Management: Lead patch management cycles and system updates, ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure.
  • Scripting and Automation: Utilize scripting skills, particularly in Ansible, to automate repetitive tasks and processes.
  • Backup Strategies: Develop and implement backup plans, including cloud backups. Knowledge of AWS is a plus.
  • Data Protection: Use Nibble (HP software) for backups and snapshot management.
  • Tier 3 Support: Act as a point of escalation for high-priority IT issues, providing Tier 3 support.
  • Equipment Management: Support a network of 160 laptops and 150 virtual machines, ensuring their efficient operation.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in IT infrastructure management and supervision.
  • Expertise in managing data centers and virtual environments, particularly VMWare.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows environments and Linux server administration.
  • Strong skills in scripting and automation, with a focus on Ansible.
  • Familiarity with backup and disaster recovery solutions, including cloud-based backups and Nibble software.
  • Ability to provide high-level technical support and problem resolution.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Preference for candidates with knowledge of AWS cloud services.
