Description As a Software Quality Engineer you will work in a cross-functional team which is developing innovative computer vision algorithms and applications. You will work closely with software engineers, management, other Apple QA teams, and will contribute new work to the Quality Plan and educate various software engineering teams on writing appropriate requirements and test plans. You will ensure that Apple delivers the next generation products with the highest quality. You will triage and debug difficult problems, driving them to resolution, in an effort to make the user experience great. Your responsibilities will include defining test coverage, developing test plans, creating and maintaining test cases, executing functional and performance tests, evaluating and reporting quality of existing technologies and new features, developing and maintaining test tools, and implementing test automation. You will carry a great deal of influence across the software engineering organization and as such, top candidates will demonstrate previous success achieving certification of the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Exercise good knowledge of software development lifecycle, testing methodologies, and testing tools.
  • Developing test plans, assessing risk, filing appropriate defects, and providing relevant data for test reporting.
  • Creation and automation of software tests (e.g., unit-tests, regression tests, functional tests, stress tests).
  • Drive development and deployment of relevant testing tools and infrastructure.
  • Strive to be detail oriented, analytical, and a creative thinker with passion for quality processes.
  • Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, raise issues and take corrective action.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS or MS in CS/CE or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant quality experience
  • Proficient in at least one programming or scripting language, Git

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with macOS, iOS and Xcode.
  • Familiarity with continuous integration tools
  • Knowledge in the field of Virtual Reality, Computer Vision and Machine Learning

Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $141,800 and $213,700, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
