Job Description
Title: Civil/Structural Engineer
Location: Salt Lake City, UT or Houston, TX
Duration: Contract-to-Direct, long-term
Salary: $55-$65/hr DOE
Job Responsibilities:
Model steel/concrete structures and foundations using computer software to design member sizes and their connections.
Review engineering plans and 3D models to ensure structure and foundations have been properly detailed to meet engineering calculations.
Duties may also be performed in a plant engineering capacity within a client's operating facility or in a field engineering capacity in support of a construction project
Supervises the work of others through the planning, review and scheduling of specific project tasks when functioning as a project lead engineer
Job Requirements:
Requires a four-year Engineering degree (BS in Civil or Structural engineering)
3-10 years design engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Requires an advanced level of working knowledge of various engineering computer software packages.
A PE license is preferred, but will consider candidates working toward a PE license
Advance level of computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, etc.
CADD literate
Experience in structural computer analysis software (i.e. RISA3D, STADD, ENERCALC or similar software)
Working knowledge of current design codes and standards (i.e. IBC,AISC,ASCE7, ACI,MSHA, OSHA)
Experience in heavy industrial projects is a plus
Good oral and written communication skills
Ability to participate in onsite visits which may require overnight travel
Able to climb ladders and work at elevated heights
Active membership in a professional Organization (i.e. ASCE, ICCor AISC) preferred
