    Job Description

    Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of a Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) Event Engineer for their LVC Solutions Group (LSG). This person works in support of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVCt) training events, the Navy Training Baseline (NTB), and the NCTE, providing technical leadership in the planning and execution of LVCt events. This position is located in Point Loma, San Diego, CA

    Essential Job Responsibilities

    • Serves as Engineering Technical Lead for NCTE training events. In this role, the technical lead collaborates with the operational event lead for the training event mission requirements and collaborates with the entire engineering department to ensure these event requirements are met.
    • Collaborates with engineering functional area leads to build integrated project teams (IPTs) and manning plans to support NCTE training events.
    • Collaborate with IPTs to design architectures that support specific training event requirements and documents these architectures using established diagram standards - e.g. Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) SV-1 and SV-2 - using tools such as Microsoft Visio.
    • Monitors the health and status of training events during execution and directs activities of the integrated project team to address any technical issues.
    • Troubleshoots LVCt system related issues and ensures training event system interfaces are configured in accordance with documented interface standards

    Minimum Qualifications

    5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

    In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience

    Preferred Requirements

    • Must have technical leadership ability. During LVCt event execution, must be able to address technical issues by understanding which engineering domain problems belong to and then assign engineers from the appropriate domains to resolve issues.
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be comfortable communicating at various levels of the organization. This may involve lower level technical collaboration on issues with assigned engineers or high level explanation of issues and/or status updates with senior leadership
    • Must be familiar with MS Office and Visio applications
    • Must be familiar with Linux and Windows operating systems
    • Should be familiar with Networking concepts, architectures, and transport technologies like TCP/IP
    • Knowledge of Distributed Simulation protocols such as High Level Architecture (HLA) and Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) is desired but not mandatory
    • Knowledge of Navy C4I tactical systems such as Link 16 and GCCS is desired but not mandatory
    • CompTIA Security + and Linux+ certifications are required for the position and special consideration may be given for candidates with these certifications. If candidate does not already possess these certifications, training and certification exam will be provided for the right candidate.
    • Must currently hold and be able to maintain a US Secret clearance
