Job Overview:
The API Architect will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining API-centric infrastructure to drive efficient orchestration, CI/CD, and cross-team collaboration. This individual will work closely with developers, product managers, and advocates to ensure robust API integration across the organization s systems, focusing on standardization, performance optimization, and evolving best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design, Implement, and Maintain: Develop standard components and capabilities to support API integrations, ensuring they align with the organization s technical and business needs.
2. Develop Best Practices: Create and document best practices for using API components within the organization to promote consistency, scalability, and ease of maintenance.
3. Collaborate with the API Architect and Development Teams: Work closely with the API Architect to ensure compatibility and seamless integration of components across various systems and architectures.
4. Technical Support and Guidance: Provide technical support and guidance to developers, assisting with the adoption and troubleshooting of API components as needed.
5. Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Continuously monitor the platform s performance, identifying and addressing bottlenecks to ensure reliable, high-performing APIs.
6. Collaborate with Product Managers and Developer Advocates: Work with product managers (PMs) and developer advocates to gather feedback and prioritize enhancements, ensuring the API infrastructure meets user needs.
7. Evolve and Maintain the APIOps Pipeline: Develop and sustain the APIOps pipeline for the API Gateway, including configuration management, to support ongoing API deployment, monitoring, and governance.
Qualifications:
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master s preferred.
Proven experience in API design, management, and architecture.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools and orchestration platforms (e.g., Jenkins, Kubernetes).
Strong understanding of APIOps practices and API Gateway configuration (e.g., Kong, Apigee, AWS API Gateway).
Excellent problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing platform challenges.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including PMs and developer advocates.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure).
Knowledge of RESTful and GraphQL API standards.
Understanding of microservices and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
