Job Summary

This role is responsible for supporting HR systems and workforce analytics initiatives across several key areas: HRIS, People Analytics, Compliance, Business Process Optimization, and Project Management. The incumbent will assist in developing and maintaining system plans that meet Human Resources' automation, data, and information management requirements, ensuring the smooth administration and deployment of HR information, programs, and services. This role also requires proficiency in Microsoft Power Automate and Power Apps, as these tools are essential for creating automated workflows, streamlining HR processes, and developing custom applications to address unique HR needs. Familiarity with these platforms will enable the incumbent to optimize business processes, reduce manual efforts, and enhance data integration between HR systems. A strong understanding of these tools will be critical for designing scalable solutions that improve efficiency and drive innovation in HR service delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience in HR operations and systems management, proven success in stakeholder management, and the ability to work collaboratively with peers and senior leaders. The role requires strong partnerships with HR professionals and business leaders to support HR initiatives.

Position Description

Reporting and Workforce Data Management
  • Process PeopleSoft, QlikView, and other HRIS security requests and participate in University-wide yearly access review audits.
  • Perform data adjustments in the system, including adding, extracting, and uploading HR data; process HR personnel transactions as needed.
  • Maintain and optimize Workforce Analytics datasets and reports using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Excel
  • Audit, troubleshoot, and resolve PeopleSoft (PS) data issues.
Systems Support and Optimization
  • Support the development and implementation of applications using the Microsoft Power Platform.
  • Manage and optimize flows in Power Automate for HR processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR systems and processes.
Business System Analysis
  • Conduct all standard duties of a business systems analyst, including but not limited to gathering requirements and defining as-is vs. to-be processes.
  • Develop scope in line with system capabilities, write test scripts, and coordinate all UAT efforts.
  • Create documentation, training, and change management resources; support deployment and cutover activities.
  • Analyze application performance and resolve issues, optimize HRIS processes, integrate new software, and perform diagnostic tests.
  • Provide day-to-day production support for HR Business Applications, including PeopleSoft and HRSS tools?
Project Coordination
  • Assist with HRIS-related projects and other department-wide technical projects.
  • Provide input on the HR Business Applications roadmap, ensuring alignment with business needs.
  • Collaborate with HR managers and other departments to determine HRIS requirements.
  • Manage or coordinate projects from initiation to completion.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned


Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Education beyond high school may count toward experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in HRIS, IT, or data analytics is required.
    • Three years of progressive HR and Data Analytics experience required
    • At least two years of experience in Power Apps and Power Automate development required
  • Proficient in Power Apps, Power Automate and Sharepoint
  • Peoplesoft HCM or similar ERP expertise required


Additional Qualifications and Skills

  • Consultative approach to systems users' proven communication skills to bridge technical information to non-technical users.
  • Experience with and deep curiosity around data analytics and visualization.
  • Familiarity with higher education setting preferred.
  • High comfort serving as a subject matter expert, ranging from everyday data management to strategic level thinking.
  • The successful candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team.


Additional Information

This is a hybrid position which we consider to be a combination of remote and onsite work at our Boston, MA based campus. HBS expects all staff to be onsite a minimum of 3 days per week and departments provide onsite coverage Monday - Friday. Specific hours and days onsite will be determined by business needs and are subject to change with appropriate advanced notice.

This is a 35 hours/week, overtime-eligible position.
