  • Job Location: Warren, New Jersey, United States
  • Contract Period: The initial contract is for 6 months, with good possibilities of further extension.
  • Remote Work Options: Hybrid work setting, 3 days per week in the office required.
Role/Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Scrum Master to join our Office of Transformation. In this role, you will be helping our organization build high-performing teams from the ground up. As a Scrum Master, you will mentor your teams to embrace agile principles and practices with a strong emphasis on establishing fundamental agile ceremonies and practices that can help create efficiency and predictability such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
The Scrum Masters are leaders and the heart of teams championing their success and empowerment. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Scrum Master who is passionate about developing teams, fostering collaboration, and driving change.
Responsibilities include:
  • Build great agile and team practices from the ground up with matrixed teams. Partner with other Scrum Masters to build strong and aligned practices.
  • Create and facilitate agile ceremonies including spring planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, retrospectives, etc ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and alignment.
  • Remove impediments to the team and foster an environment conducive to team collaboration and productivity. Ensure a smooth and efficient development process.
  • Facilitate team discussions and decision-making processes empowering the team to be self-organized and manage, issues, risks, and dependencies.
  • Track and report the team's progress, identify risks, and escalate issues as needed to ensure timely delivery of features/work. Track team metrics and reports such as velocity or burn-up charts.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owners and stakeholders to help prioritize work in a way that aligns with dependencies and objectives.
  • Drive process improvements and best practices with the team and across the organization.
  • Coach and mentor, the team and leaders on agile principles and practices, driving adoption and growth.
  • Partner with vendor partners ensuring we break down silos and implement work in an efficient, collaborative, and incremental manner.
  • Engage in CoP meetings helping grow learning across the organization.
Qualifications and Key Skillset for this Role
  • Proven experience as a Product Owner in the industry, demonstrating an understanding of insurance products, processes, and regulatory requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to effectively translate business needs into actionable product features and user stories.
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate effective interactions between business stakeholders and development teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage product backlogs based on strategic goals, customer feedback, and market trends.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word).
  • Prior property & casualty insurance experience preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Certifications like Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) / Certified Scrum Master (CSM) / Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO) / Professional Scrum Master (PSM) / similar are preferred.
  • Industrial Certifications/Professional Insurance Designations such as Associate in Reinsurance (ARe), Associate in General Insurance (AINS), CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter), ARM (associate risk manager), etc. are a big plus.
