Job Description
Job Title: Nonprofit Salesforce Developer
We are seeking a talented and dedicated individual to join our nonprofit organization as a Salesforce Developer. As a Salesforce Developer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and maintaining our Salesforce platform, ensuring its efficiency and effectiveness in supporting our mission-driven initiatives. Your expertise in Salesforce customization, integration, and administration will be essential in optimizing our nonprofit operations and enhancing our impact.
Responsibilities:
Salesforce Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, develop, and implement custom Salesforce solutions aligned with our nonprofit's needs. This includes creating custom objects, fields, workflows, validation rules, and triggers.
Customization and Configuration: Customize Salesforce to meet the unique requirements of our organization, including creating and modifying page layouts, reports, dashboards, and user profiles. Implement and maintain data integrity standards and data governance processes.
Integration and Data Management: Integrate Salesforce with external systems and tools, such as payment processors, marketing automation platforms, and other nonprofit software solutions. Ensure seamless data flow and maintain data integrity across different platforms.
System Maintenance and Support: Provide ongoing maintenance and support for the Salesforce platform, including monitoring system performance, troubleshooting issues, and implementing enhancements and bug fixes. Collaborate with Salesforce administrators and users to address user questions and provide technical guidance.
Collaboration and Training: Work closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand business processes, identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvement, and provide recommendations. Conduct training sessions and create documentation to empower users in utilizing Salesforce effectively.
Salesforce Community Development: Develop and maintain Salesforce Community portals for our nonprofit, enabling constituents, volunteers, and other stakeholders to engage and collaborate effectively.
Stay Updated and Innovate: Stay abreast of the latest Salesforce features, updates, and best practices in the nonprofit sector. Continuously explore and propose innovative solutions to leverage Salesforce capabilities and improve organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience as a Salesforce Developer, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
- Strong proficiency in Salesforce development, including Apex, Visualforce, and Lightning components.
- Experience with Salesforce configuration, including custom objects, workflows, validation rules, and process builder.
- Proficiency in integrating Salesforce with external systems using APIs and web services.
- Solid understanding of relational databases and data management principles.
- Knowledge of Salesforce security models, user profiles, and permission sets.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Salesforce certifications such as Salesforce Certified Platform Developer, Salesforce Certified Administrator, or Salesforce Certified App Builder are highly desirable.
- Familiarity with nonprofit CRM solutions or experience working in the nonprofit sector is a plus.
