Job Description

Piper Companies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of User Experience (UX) for an employment opportunity. As the Senior Manager of User Experience (UX), you will be responsible for leading and managing our UX team to deliver exceptional user experiences across our products and services. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and development, to ensure the seamless integration of user-centered design principles and practices. Your expertise in UX strategy, research, and design will be instrumental in driving the success of our user experience initiatives. This role is on site and sits out of the Washington D.C./Northern Virginia Area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the UX strategy, aligning it with the company's business goals, brand identity, and user needs.

• Lead and inspire a team of UX professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and innovation.

• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and UX best practices, and advocate for their integration into our products and services.

• Develop a deep understanding of user behaviors, needs, and pain points, and translate findings into actionable recommendations and design solutions.

• Collaborate with product management and development teams to define user personas and ensure user-centric product requirements.

• Lead the design process, applying user-centered design principles to create intuitive and engaging user interfaces across various platforms.

• Collaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to establish design guidelines, patterns, and UI standards for consistency and brand alignment.

• Conduct UX reviews and provide feedback to ensure the adherence to UX principles and the highest quality of user experiences.

• Implement UX evaluation methods, such as usability testing and heuristic evaluations, to assess the effectiveness and usability of our products and services.

• Analyze user feedback, behavioral data, and metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimization of the user experience.

• Advocate for iterative design processes and data-driven decision-making to continuously enhance and refine our user experiences.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field such as UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related discipline preferred.

• Proven experience in UX design, with a focus on leading UX teams and driving user-centered design practices.

• Strong knowledge of UX research methodologies, including user interviews, usability testing, and data analysis.

• Proficiency in UX design tools, such as Adobe XD, Sketch, or Figma.

• Familiarity with UX evaluation techniques, such as heuristic evaluation and usability testing.

• Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor a team.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven and user-centric mindset.

• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate UX strategies and recommendations to stakeholders.

• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies is a plus

Compensation:

• Salary: $155,000 - $175,000 depending on experience, along with annual bonus based on performance
