Role Description: CoStar is seeking a Senior Director , Rent Analytics who will build a team of quantitative modelers and data analytics professionals who will be responsible for building quantitative models and tools to analyze and report on the robust rent data captured within CoStar . The team will be responsible for data accumulation, modeling and building forecasts to show historical and current rent data and predict future trends . They will need to build predictive modeling tools that enable customers to maximize revenue potential of their properties .

This position is located in Richmond, VA and offers the following hybrid schedule options:

  • 4 days onsite / 1 day remote


Responsibilities:

  • Leveraging CoStar data, build models that will enable customers to forecast and maximize revenue potential while analyzing broader market data and forecasts
  • Build a team of data scientists to support rent modeling efforts and ensure they receive proper training and on-boarding for their success
  • Leverage extensive expertise in commercial real estate markets to develop new analytical tools that would be accretive to customers


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field from an accredited, not-for-profit University or College
  • A track record of commitment to prior employers
  • 8+ years of experience performing econometric based forecasting and quantitative analysis; or 6+ years of experience and a PhD in Data Science, Statistics, or another quantitative field
  • 3+ years of experience building models analyzing commercial real estate trends and data
  • 5+ years leading small team of 2-3 data scientists
  • Commercial Real Estate domain expertise , including rent analysis
  • Strong analytical and writing skills, and presentation/public speaking skills


  • Strong project management skillset
  • Proven experience with stakeholder management
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across Product teams, IT and leadership


Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD Strongly preferred in Data Science, Statistics or another quantitative field
