Key responsibilities:

  • Mining large datasets, primarily medical claims, to construct analytic files using SAS and SQL
  • Manipulating, aggregating, and merging data in the preparation of analytic files
  • Experience generating outputs based on statistical modeling
  • Writing SAS programs and/or modifying existing SAS programs to conduct analysis on analytic files in coordination with project teams
  • Efficiently managing SAS programs and data
  • Developing an understanding of Medicare claims data and related Medicare payment policies
  • Managing time effectively across multiple projects to meet all timelines

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will possess 5 years of SAS programming expertise
  • Knowledgeable with Medicare/Medicaid Claims data or other public health programs of the agencies of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, (HHS) and/or familiarity with CMS payment regulation
  • SQL and Statistical Analysis is desired but not required

Highly valued skills and abilities include:

  • Experience with large federal data-intensive projects
  • Experience in converting data in a variety of different formats into SAS
  • Experience with technical writing primarily on the methods and findings from data analyses
  • Experience generating outputs based on statistical modeling
  • Basic knowledge of statistics and significance measures
  • Flexible/adaptable to changing needs and priorities
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team
  • SAS Certification and work experience in health services research, health policy analysis, and/or public-sector consulting are also desired.

As with any SAS PROGRAMMER, the usual minimum requirement for the performance of the job duties is a Bachelor's degree in Computer and Science Engineering, IT engineering, or Equivalent 5+ years of experience required in SAS Programming or a related field.

This position can allow you to work remotely however TRAVEL is required to the client site once it's allowed after COVID restriction.
