The Lead IT Project Portfolio Analyst role is in the job family of a Project Portfolio Analyst (PPA) as an Estimating Analyst, with a secondary focus of M&A/Enterprise Resource Project Management Office (ERPMO) reporting. In the PPA role, this contractor will work closely with Business and IT partners to define project scope/deliverables, optimize project forecasts, and facilitate approval of rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimate leveraging in-house tools & techniques to ensure that the project data sets proper expectations for portfolio and governance investment decisions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
  • Works closely with Business and IT partners to define project scope and deliverables, gathers inputs into the process, and optimizes project forecasts.
  • Facilitates the rough order of magnitude (ROM) estimate process leveraging in-house tools & techniques.
  • Develops project estimates for governance approval to ensure that the project data sets proper expectations for portfolio and governance investment decisions.
  • Uses business and data analysis techniques from completed projects to aid in the Initiation approval process.
  • Provides program and portfolio planning support.
  • Uses critical thinking to solve problems.

Required Skills:
  • Working knowledge of project estimation practices and utilization of the SLIM estimating tool
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to investigate, assess and recommend solutions. Also with a proven ability to adapt to reporting/analysis tool changes.
  • M&A experience
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Power/Apps, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Word.

Preferred Skills:
  • Portfolio Management and/or PMO experience
  • Demonstrates strong leadership experience, building strong relationships (partnerships) and influencing multiple levels of Business/IT leadership.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of 8 years of related work experience in an IT analyst, IT project planning/scheduling role, or some combination of the two.
  • {OR} Bachelor's Degree or higher in a business or IT discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Business Management) and a minimum of 5 years of related work experience in an IT analyst, IT project planning/scheduling role, or some combination of the two.
