Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.

JOB DESIGNATION
The Mechanical Engineer I will provide expertise in developing, designing and testing the necessary mechanical products per requirements and specifications. The Engineer I will perform mechanical development and integration assignments.

JOB CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides expertise in the design, development, and testing of mechanical components
- Performs mechanical component development and integration; uses Computer-Aided-Design (CAD) concepts and applicable methods and procedures
- Participates in engineering activities to define product requirements, creates designs, performs simulation testing and validation of final hardware components
- Uses existing procedures to solve problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments
- Performs mechanical development and integration assignments
- Conducts value analysis during the product design phase while optimizing development costs
- Solves technical problems and improves existing designs
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
- Education requirement: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Years' Experience: 0 - 2 years of relevant experience
- Skills:
- Excellent ability to apply a systematic, disciplined and analytical approach to problem-solving
- Expect to become familiar with the design of test and execution of test around MIL-STD-810
- Strong knowledge of 3-D modeling; SolidWorks knowledge preferred
- Ability to use existing procedures to solve problems
- Good knowledge and ability to apply core concepts of engineering (mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, materials science, structural analysis, and electricity)
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion
- Strong organizational skills; ability to drive results; continual learner
- Passionate about problem-solving and working with interdisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated adaptability and collaboration skills
Competitive Compensation
- Pay Range: \$69,500 to \$115,000 annually
- Participation in Annual Incentive Program
