Title: Microsoft 365 / SharePoint Solutions Architect


Location: Denver, CO (Hybrid - 2 days onsite)


Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire


Compensation: $150,000-$175,000 base + 10% discretionary bonus




Summary:


An experienced Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Solutions Architect is needed to lead the strategic design, development, and expansion of enterprise collaboration platforms. This role combines high-level architecture and business planning with hands-on technical execution. The ideal candidate will own the end-to-end M365 and SharePoint ecosystem-driving modernization, scaling collaboration systems, and ensuring alignment between technology and business goals.


This person will serve as both a strategic leader and a technical expert, capable of guiding enterprise-level architecture decisions while also rolling up their sleeves for solution development, debugging, and system optimization.




Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the enterprise roadmap for Microsoft 365 platforms, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and the Power Platform.




  • Define governance, compliance, and security standards to ensure scalable, high-performing, and secure collaboration systems.




  • Partner with business and technology leaders to align architecture with organizational objectives.




  • Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to enhance productivity through automation, modernization, and cloud-based collaboration tools.

  • Design, implement, and manage large-scale SharePoint Online environments including site collections, permissions models, and hybrid configurations.




  • Oversee tenant-level administration, performance optimization, and complex integrations with Teams, Exchange, and OneDrive.




  • Build and maintain custom solutions using SPFx, PowerShell, and Microsoft Graph API.




  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks (naming conventions, lifecycle management, security roles, retention, eDiscovery, etc.).




  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for performance, configuration, or security issues.

  • Architect and manage enterprise identity and access management solutions (Azure AD, ADFS, Conditional Access, MFA).




  • Ensure secure external collaboration, data protection, and compliance with enterprise standards.




  • Integrate Microsoft collaboration tools with third-party and internal business systems for seamless enterprise communication.

  • Lead enterprise implementations, migrations, and integrations across global business units.




  • Automate repetitive administrative and operational tasks using PowerShell and Power Platform tools (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).




  • Serve as the escalation point for advanced M365/SharePoint issues and mentor IT staff on best practices.




  • Partner cross-functionally to drive adoption, user enablement, and continuous improvement of collaboration tools.






Qualifications & Skills:




  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.




  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience with a focus on Microsoft 365 architecture, SharePoint design, and enterprise collaboration.




  • Proven track record in architecting, deploying, and scaling SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 ecosystems for global organizations.




  • Hands-on expertise with:




    • SPFx, PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API




    • Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI)




    • Azure AD, ADFS, Conditional Access, MFA, IAM principles




    • Migration tools such as ShareGate or equivalent






  • Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and security controls in M365.




  • Ability to influence at the executive level while also contributing technically (debugging, coding, and solutioning).




  • Excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with a proactive approach to innovation and problem-solving.
