Our Database Administrators (DBA) work closely with application teams to ensure database configurations meet business and customer needs. The Database Systems Programmers (DBS) team is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and optimization of IBM DB2 for z/OS on the Mainframe platform. Together, the DBA and DBS teams focus on enhancing system performance, reliability, and resource efficiency. Composed of skilled and motivated individuals, our shared goal is to deliver exceptional customer service through improved product stability and quality.
Description
This position will participate in an on-call rotation and occasional after hours and weekend work.
Position Purpose:
Work as part of a team to support business applications, participate in project activities as assigned, create databases and/or database objects, perform database performance monitoring and tuning, participate in Disaster Recovery Exercise activities, participate in on-call rotation, work incident and outage tickets involving production and non-production databases, and perform data migrations.

Position Purpose:
Work as part of a team to support business applications, participate in project activities as assigned, create databases and/or database objects, perform database performance monitoring and tuning, participate in Disaster Recovery Exercise activities, participate in on-call rotation, work incident and outage tickets involving production and non-production databases, and perform data migrations.
What You'll Do:
- Identify opportunities to reduce data redundancy, trends in data uses, and single sources of data.
- Plan, design, enforce, and audit security policies and procedures that safeguard the integrity of and access to enterprise systems, files, and data elements. Evaluate and recommend security products, services, and/or procedures to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
- Provide management with risk assessments and security briefings to advise them of critical issues that may affect client or corporate security objectives. Perform database backup/recovery responsibilities.
- Create and modify database objects and make recommendations for adaptation of new technologies or policies. Troubleshoot applications performance problems. Follow departmental work instructions and documentation when performing job duties.
- Conduct end-user training where applicable.
Work Environment:
- Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.
To Qualify for This Position, You'll Need:

Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a job-related field.
Degree Equivalency:
- Associate's degree plus an extra 2 years job-related experience for a total of 7 years of required work experience (see "required work experience").
OR
- 9 total years required work experience.
Required Work Experience :
- 5 years of IT experience including varied database administration experience.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of applicable data management programming languages and tools.
- Able to identify areas where existing data security policies and procedures require change and need to be developed.
- Knowledge of the methodologies and technologies that depict the flow of data within and between technology systems and business functions/operations.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to configure database parameters and to diagnose and resolve performance problems.
Required Software and Other Tools:
- Standard office equipment.
We Prefer That You Have:
- Db2 Mainframe experience.
- Experience with ServiceNow.
- Experience with IBM Products.
- Proven ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in researching and resolving technical issues efficiently.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
