Overview

GovCIO is currently hiring for a Senior Network Engineer with an active Secret clearance to install, configure, and troubleshoot various network architecture. This position will be located in Fairfax, Virginia and will be an onsite position.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Tier 3 support as well as design, test, and implement Next Generation Network for all DEA offices which includes wired and wireless LANs, network access compliance security (NAC), user identity, routing, and firewalls.
  • Design, implement, and manage disaster recovery sites.
  • Implement HP and Cisco blade server systems; provide engineering and operational support for data centers, campus networks, Dynamic Multipoint Virtual Private Networks (DMVPN) Layer 3, Layer 2, and wireless networks.
  • Provide engineering and operations support for network applications installed on client workstations, for VPN and network optimization, data center services to include server load balancing, WAN optimization, and network access security to include 802.1x and client posture assessment.
  • Manage network (Cisco ACI), compute (Cisco UCS), virtualization (VMWare), and the broker (UCS Director).


Qualifications

  • High School with 9+ years of hands-on enterprise network (or commensurate experience)
  • Knowledge of the inner workings of the major network routing protocols, including dynamic routing
  • Experience with a variety of firewalls
  • Solid background in network administration and architecture
  • Knowledge of building, developing, and maintaining SD-WAN environments
  • Familiarity with access control models and network security
  • Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools
  • Solid understanding of network operating systems (Aruba, Juniper, Cisco)
  • Solid understanding of VPN
  • Sharp troubleshooting skills
  • Experience terminating fiber and network cables
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience designing, writing, and updating both system documentation and network diagrams
  • Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP)
  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and hold DEA suitability

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity.
