Job Details

The Principal Network Solution Architect will serve as a senior strategic leader responsible for driving the overall direction, vision, and definition of the enterprise network architecture. This role operates at both strategic and technical levels, aligning network solutions with long-term business objectives while ensuring effective adoption of future-state architectures.

You will collaborate closely with senior business and IT stakeholders, including presenting technical solutions to executive review boards. This role requires deep expertise in routing, switching, data center architectures, and enterprise network environments.


Key Responsibilities

Architecture Strategy: Define and drive the enterprise network architecture vision aligned with long-term business goals.

Design Leadership: Develop formal Conceptual and Solution Network Architectures and present them to executive architecture review committees.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Work across IT and business units to guide future-state architectures and build consensus on new solutions.

Project Leadership: Lead architectural efforts through the full project lifecycle—from concept to design and implementation.

Governance & Standards: Ensure all solutions follow best practices, architectural standards, and reusable design principles.

Change Leadership: Act as a Change Agent to challenge legacy approaches and promote modern technologies and methodologies.

Mentorship: Operate at both strategic and tactical levels to ensure near-term solutions support long-term architectural goals.


Required Qualifications

Experience: 15–20 years in IT, including 10–15 years specifically in network architecture.

Technical Expertise: Expert-level hands-on experience in routing, switching, data center networking, and enterprise network architectures.

Certification: Active CCIE required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, specialized training, or equivalent experience.

Communication: Strong ability to communicate complex architectural concepts to senior leaders.

Track Record: Demonstrated experience designing solutions for complex business and technical challenges.


Preferred Qualifications : 

Strong knowledge of architectural modeling, SOA, and Enterprise Information Management.

Experience as a Network Solution Architect in large-scale, heterogeneous IT environments.

Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture (EA) frameworks.

Transportation industry experience is a plus.

Broader IT networking experience beyond core routing and switching.
