Site Reliability Engineer

Location: 100% Remote 

The Team: This person will be on 1 of the 4 Agile (KanBan) teams within Londen Insurance. 

The Project: This position will be supporting a department consisting of cross functional Agile teams focused on developing and delivering solutions to a new platform. Extensive collaboration is required with the internal teams as well as IT Operations, Architects, external vendors, and others to support the transformation of a legacy system to a modern platform and drive the future technology needs of the company.

The ideal candidate: The successful candidate will have a DevOps and CI/CD mindset approach to design, build and run efficient production systems. You will write software to streamline the automation, monitoring, alerting, testing, and deployment of software to supported platform environments and AWS Cloud. The candidate will be very comfortable working with AWS, Auth0, ElasticSearch, maintaining on-prem web services and acting as first line of defense for escalated production issues.

Day-to-Day: 

• Support internal DevOps deployments to AWS EKS
• Maintain/Improve existing AWS existing scripts
• Perform and monitor deployments, implement tracing tools, and more
• Coordinate with multiple development teams across the department
• Maintain AWS code pipeline deployments
• Maintain On-Prem web servers
• Support Escalation

• Troubleshoot escalated Production issues by being the first line of defense

MUST HAVES: 

• 3 to 6 years of professional experience as a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)
• Hands on experience writing and applying infrastructure-as-code
• Experience with GIT source control (must have)
• Experience with production/filter monitoring/containerization
• 2+ years experience with AWS Cloud formation stacks, CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, CodeBuild, CodePipeline, EKS (must have)
• 4+ Years of Experience with development of shell scripts
• Experience writing lambda functions using Python or Java script
• Experience deploying/patching/administering Linux (Ubuntu) or related Linux OS
• Experience in migrating application from on-prem to cloud
• Experience with Linux and shell scripts
• A strong understanding of Internet standards and protocols such as HTTP, DNS, TCP, and UDP

Candidates should demonstrate expertise or experience with using:

•  AWS experience with

o    Lambda Functions

o    CloudFormation

o    Dynamo DB

o    My SQL (Database content)

o    API Gateway

•  DevOps - CI/CD Responsibilities

o    Web application deployment scripts

o    Automated deployments to Dev/Test/Prod environments

o    Configure new pipelines for migrated projects

•  ElasticSearch administration
