Job Details

Key Responsibilities:

1. MicroStrategy Environment Management

2. Install, configure, and maintain MicroStrategy Intelligence Server, Web, Mobile, and Developer environments.

3. Manage upgrades, patches, and version migrations with minimal downtime.

4. Monitor system health, performance, and capacity planning.

5. Security & User Management

6. Design and implement authentication and authorization (LDAP, SSO, Kerberos).

7. Manage user roles, groups, and privileges.

8. Enforce governance and access control policies.

9. Performance Optimization

10. Tune Intelligence Server, database connections, and report execution performance.

11. Analyze bottlenecks and optimize SQL queries, caching strategies, and cubes.

12. Implement clustering and load balancing for high availability.

13. Automation & Monitoring

14. Develop scripts and tools for environment automation (backup, deployment, monitoring).

15. Integrate with scheduling and monitoring tools (Control-M, Jenkins, etc.).

16. Create dashboards for platform health and usage metrics.

17. Collaboration & Support

18. Partner with BI developers, DBAs, and infrastructure teams to ensure reliable data delivery.

19. Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.

20. Document configurations, processes, and operational guidelines.

Technical Skills Required:

Core: MicroStrategy (10.x / 11.x / 2021+), Intelligence Server, Command Manager, Enterprise Manager, Developer, Web, Mobile.

Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, Snowflake, or equivalent.

OS: Linux and Windows Server environments.

Scripting: Python, Shell, or PowerShell for automation.

Integration: LDAP/AD, SSO (SAML/OAuth), and web server integration (Apache/Tomcat/IIS).

Monitoring Tools: AppDynamics, Splunk, or equivalent.

Preferred: AWS/Azure cloud deployment experience and CI/CD pipeline exposure.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

2. 12+ years of total IT experience with at least 8 years in MicroStrategy Administration.

3. Proven experience in managing large-scale BI environments (multi-cluster, 1000+ users).

4. Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.

5. MicroStrategy certification (MCE / MCSA) preferred.

Nice to Have:

1. Experience with data modeling and schema design.

2. Experience in Retail domain

3. Exposure to Tableau / Power BI / Qlik for hybrid analytics environments.

4. Understanding of DevOps, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and cloud-native BI deployments.
