Notes: Position is a combination of onsite and remote Description:The Mainframe Technical Operations Consultant would be considered a Subject Matter Expert for mainframe infrastructure including hardware configuration and software productsThe candidate will provide Mainframe platform support and incident management experience to assist managed service team with problem record resolution and system enhancement recommendationsThe resource is expected to partner with technical support groups and application teamsThe candidate will be working towards goals of providing high availability and modernization Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Batch scheduling, support documentation, service continuity, vendor interaction, tool investigation, and attending tool-informative sessionsThe candidate will provide report metrics for environments and application usage, interact with various application teams, and understand, track, and lead project progress till completionThe candidate will work with the managed service team to successfully upgrade MF software and hardware communicating action plans with application teams

Requirements:Bachelor's degree in a related area Minimum 5 years of experience in the field or related areaUnderstanding of the mainframe hardware and related components (network, storage, DR)Technical knowledge of z/OSWorking knowledge of IMS, CICS, and DB2Key interface between operations and technical support groupsTechnical knowledge in mainframe-related tools and languagesMust be able to identify risks and establish priorities in a high-energy environment. Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize projectsGood organization, communication, and process improvement skills.
