Job Description
Our client is a Baltimore-based investment management firm known for its long-term, research-driven approach to investing. The firm specializes in growth equity strategies, focusing on identifying high-quality companies with the potential for sustainable growth over time. They are seeking a talented and motivated Mid-Level Data Engineer to join their growing technology team.

As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining the infrastructure that supports data-driven decision-making processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the efficient flow of data and the implementation of innovative solutions that align with the firm's strategic goals.

This role offers a hybrid work environment, requiring two days per week in the Baltimore, Maryland office.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines using Python and SQL to support data analytics and business intelligence initiatives.
  • Work with AWS cloud services, including S3, Lambda, RDS, and Redshift, to build scalable data solutions.
  • Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment processes for data engineering projects.
  • Utilize containerization tools (such as Docker or Kubernetes) to streamline the development, testing, and deployment of data infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical solutions that support business objectives.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security through best practices in data governance and management.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data workflows and infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in data engineering or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing, transformation, and analysis.
  • Experience with AWS services (S3, EC2, Lambda, Redshift, etc.) in a production environment.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of ETL processes, data warehousing, and data modeling.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications
  • Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code.
  • Knowledge of big data tools and technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
