Job Title: Integration Architect
Location: Boca Raton, FL - On site 5x a week
Duration: 6+ Months Contract to Hire

Role details:

• The role is for an Integrations Architect focused on EDI (Electronic Data Interchange).
• The position is open because the company wants to bring EDI work in-house, reducing reliance on external contractors.

Role requirements:

• The ideal candidate should have a combination of strategic and technical skills, able to communicate with executives and manage execution.
• Experience with EDI and integrations is essential, with familiarity in ERP systems like Great Plains, and potentially D365 or Oracle in the future.
• The role requires someone who can lead strategy and oversee contractors who handle coding and technical execution.

Other details:

• The company is currently using Great Plains ERP but plans to move to D365 or Oracle by 2027.

Job Description:

• Lead the end-to-end integrations and EDI strategy across enterprise systems and supply chain, aligning architecture with business goals and rapid growth initiatives.
• Translate executive and operational requirements into technical integration designs, specifications, and documentation, directing contractors on execution while ensuring outcomes meet stakeholder needs.
• Design and oversee EDI integrations using current platforms (e.g., TrueCommerce, SPS Commerce) while planning a transition to a more platform-agnostic approach that increases control and scalability.
• Evaluate integration options and tooling, perform build-versus-buy and cost/complexity assessments, and contribute to the future ERP integration strategy as the organization evaluates D365 or Oracle.
• Support day-to-day integration operations and issue resolution while driving strategic projects that improve reliability, scalability, and partner connectivity across the ecosystem.
• Collaborate with IT leadership, operations, supply chain, and external partners to model business processes and architect robust, secure, and maintainable integrations.
• Oversee EDI data mapping, testing, and validation, ensuring data integrity and error handling across ERP, 3PLs/warehouses, trading partners, and other connected systems.
• Identify integration risks, performance bottlenecks, and process gaps; implement monitoring, alerting, and SLAs; and drive continuous improvement and standardization.
• Lead ad-hoc integration projects tied to M&A activities, new trading partner onboarding, and system expansions, managing contractor deliverables and timelines in a fast-paced environment.
• Create and maintain architecture diagrams, mapping documents, and runbooks; establish best practices and governance; and help build internal capabilities to reduce reliance on external vendors over time.

Experience:

• Several years of hands-on experience designing and delivering enterprise integrations and EDI solutions within supply chain, manufacturing, or distribution environments.
• Proven ability to translate business and operational requirements into integration architectures, mapping specifications, and implementation plans; comfortable engaging with executive stakeholders and frontline teams.
• Strong EDI domain knowledge (partner onboarding, mapping, testing, exception handling) and experience coordinating work with third-party EDI providers or contractors, including networks such as TrueCommerce or SPS Commerce.
• ERP integration experience, ideally with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains), and exposure to large-scale ERP platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Oracle; ability to plan for a future-state transition.
• Track record of owning integration strategy and architecture while orchestrating execution through external vendors and internal teams, rather than writing code yourself.
• Demonstrated strength in creating and maintaining documentation (data/process flows, mapping specs, SOPs, runbooks) that supports scalable, repeatable integrations.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth, M&A environment, aligning disparate processes and systems and driving standardization across new acquisitions and 3PL partners.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and vendor management skills with the ability to set priorities, manage expectations, and report status clearly.
• Analytical problem-solver with a strong focus on data integrity, reconciliation, monitoring, and end-to-end process quality across supply chain flows.
• Collaborative, proactive teammate who takes initiative, asks clarifying questions, and escalates risks early; effective working cross-functionally with IT and Operations.
• Flexible and adaptable professional able to juggle multiple integration projects, shifting priorities, and tight timelines while maintaining high standards.
• Commitment to working full-time, on-site in Boca, and an interest in helping build in-house EDI capabilities over time.
