Telecom experience must
- Midnight to 6 AM maintenance windows
- 8-5 ET standard hours
WORK DUTIES:
Site due diligence
- Potentially work with Planning and Engineering to install new equipment for migration
- New router turn up and configuration
- 5 or more sites need new equipment to migrate
- Firewall request formulation and submission
- MOP creation
- MOP execution in maintenance window
- Work through any fall out from migration
- Day to day Break Fix tickets worked in ServiceNow
- Issues include Routers, Swtiches, terminal servers
- Async, Ethernet, and X.25 sync connections
- Frame Relay, ATM, ATM IMA, Clear channel T1, Ethernet over Copper, multi link T1.
- Fractional T1, DS1 DS3, OC3, POS, GigE, and Ten Gig.
Description:
In a NOC environment you will document, configure, install, deploy, migrate, monitor, investigate, triage, troubleshoot, remediate, and maintain network systems for performance, efficiency, stability, and availability. Process RMA and hardware replacements and upgrades per best practices. Ensure day-to-day operations of technology infrastructure. Design and develop automation/scripting solutions to assist position and team performance.

Qualifications
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
Successfully implement network and device maintenance requests.
Assist in network migration project. In creating documentation and writing MOPs and turning up circuits.
Provide high-level technical & engineering feedback for network performance management configurations, troubleshooting, and service restoration along with an understanding of switching, and routing as it would affect performance management.
Work with network vendor providers troubleshooting and administering network devices.
Monitor and analyze performance across networks and underlying automation deployments.
Develop and oversee technical methods, procedures, and assist with complex solution design feedback.
Develop & document process flows.
Contribute to advancing current knowledge base for network device troubleshooting, design, and support documentation.
Identify capacity and performance issues for network traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of systems.
Provide ideas and improvements for automated systems towards improving network operations efficiencies.
Properly document network issue resolution and identification through operational ticketing systems
Maintain network monitoring applications, equipment and utilities as needed.
Act as liaison between customer facing teams, network operations centers, vendor support teams, and peer networks as needed
WHAT IT TAKES TO CATCH OUR EYE:
Bachelor s degree plus 3+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and Nokia platforms
Layers 2 & 3 switch and router configuration and management.
Advanced understanding of internet routing protocols and concepts: TCP/IP, BGP, and/or OSPF.
Experience with isolation of telecom and/or network outage causes and service restorations
Advanced customer service, organizational interaction, and teamwork skills
Proficient and proven knowledge base in DNS, scripting applications related to network architecture and support
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Strong communication (oral and written), customer service, organizational and multi-tasking skills
