Job Description

The Oregon Department of Revenue is recruiting for one .Net/Agile Developer (Information Systems Specialist 6) position. We are looking for an IT professional to bring their .Net and Agile experience to join our highly collaborative and productive team of programmers. This position is located in our Salem office.

Below is a sampling of job duties. It is not meant to encompass all duties.

  • Programming
    • Code, test, and implement programs from specifications written by oneself or another team member and/or in consultation with end users
  • Systems Design
    • Designs all major system components such as forms, reports, screen formats, files, and databases
  • Testing
    • Writes detailed test plans for all levels of system development
    • Reviews the results of unit and integration test to ensure accuracy and adherence to requirements
  • Systems Analysis
    • Assess users information requirements by interviewing agency personnel
    • Details the sequential steps involved in producing desired output and reports and estimates feasibility and cost/benefit associated with producing the system
    • Develops system and program specifications, divides projects into segments, sets priorities for assignment to other staff, coordinates and checks progress of system development, testing and implementation, provides technical assistance to other technical staff

This Is What You Need To Qualify

(a) Five (5) years of information systems experience


(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;
three (3) years of information systems experience in:
(agency will specify specific experience);


(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
one (1) year of information systems experience

The ideal candidate will possess the following desired skills and attributes:

  • Experience with .Net, C#, and Agile software development
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others
  • Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment, decision making skills, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Exceptional professional-level verbal and written communications skills
  • Self-motivated and able to meet numerous firm deadlines with frequent interruptions in daily work schedules
  • Good team player skills, including the willingness to collaborate, share information, and contribute to the section's success.
