Location - Rosemont, IL

 

Our client is looking to add a .Net Developer that will be responsible for developing, testing, and supporting the enterprise web service catalog used by applications across the application portfolio. When new features are needed for a new or existing application, the .Net Developer will use available services from the service catalog to fulfill the requirements. If they do not exist, the .Net Developer will add a new web service making sure that the new service is reliable, efficient, and reusable. The Senior/Lead .Net Developer will, integrate with external services and vendors to provide a single touch-point, via an API, to those external services or data. The .Net Developer will also work with the Application Development team when necessary to develop services that access core system logic and data.

Responsibilities:

Interpret specifications and programming requirements.

Work closely with all stakeholders and staff to clarify and to ensure accuracy and completeness of user-developed system enhancement specifications.

Develop, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot web services, Web APIs, and related touch-points.

Review solution architecture documents and ensure that solutions align with the enterprise architecture.

Participate in detailed solution design, provide work effort estimates for development and unit testing tasks, and carry out solution development tasks.

Participate in the daily maintenance of the business systems including the investigation of errors, corrections of functionality or restoration of system integrity.

Ensure proper practices are employed by the team to maintain integrity, version controls, and coordination of software releases.

Ensure that systems are well documented, thoroughly tested and debugged, coded efficiently, and adhere to corporate and industry standards.

Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with other team members as appropriate; ensure that all technical documentation is produced for ease of transferring skills and knowledge on projects.

 

Required Qualifications

5-7 years of hands-on ASP.Net development experience.

3-5 years of Web Service or web API development experience.

3-5 years MVC or WebForms, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and React.js development experience would be a plus

SQL Server and Entity Framework.

Experience working with Agile, Scrum methods and DevOps practices.

Solid technical skills with the ability to learn quickly.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Provides sound reasoning and judgment for decisions.

Able to work independently.

Able to work effectively with others on a team.

Able to be an effective change agent by introducing and embedding change.

Able to manage multiple works tasks and prioritize time appropriately.
