Manager of Development
Supervises analysis and defines functionality for system improvements and new applications. Manages or leads various phases of the development and maintenance of approved projects.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Participates in defining and leading technical direction to deliver mission critical business functionality to our clients. This includes interfacing with our client delivery teams to communicate status and direction.
Participates in selecting and implementing technical architecture of assigned projects and being responsible for the technical delivery of those projects.
Act as a career manager for developers - perform roles & responsibility discussions, performance reviews, and act as a mentor. Success for this role is not just measured by the individual but by the person's team.
Hold team and him/herself accountable to a defined chargeability metric.
Leads performance or reviews systems analysis, design, programming, testing, debugging, and documentation for assigned projects. Works with support and documentation groups to provide technical and user training and manuals for new systems and major system enhancements.
Leads or participates in process improvement. Is a catalyst for change.
Provides technical leadership to team and department members. Leads through example, Mentors/ influences others. Effectively works with peers, team members, and other departments.
Ability to act as a Scrum Master to lead a team through a successful Sprint. Participates on project teams for assigned system projects; analyzes improvements and new applications and develops requirements and specifications with team.
Investigates replacing current systems with new systems and analyzes the adaptability of current operations. Technical equipment and software vendors and current users are consulted in these evaluations.
Helps develop specification, program and documentation standards. Maintains functional operation of assigned production systems. Provides input to application manager on reviews of programmers and programmer/analysts, and helps to identify training needs.
Coordinates support for new development.
Key contributor on projects. Drives a project, from a technical standpoint, independently resolves issues.
Makes significant contributions to the success of projects by applying demonstrated knowledge.
Possesses strong body of technical and/or application knowledge. Is an expert on at least one application (knows application inside and out, can design application).
Demonstrates broad scope of knowledge and strong skill base, which transcends an application. Could quickly become a Subject Matter Expert in other applications.
Is able to multi-task, and possesses above average initiative and capacity to abstract.
BA/BS degree in Computer Science with a minimum of 7 years relevant development experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
The.Net Development Manager to manage a team of 8 to10 Developers focused on building and supporting a software product. VB.Net, C#,ASP.Net, XML, SQL Server and heavy WebServices experience are required. Candidate will need to be hands on to an extent but this will not be a coding position. Seeking excellent communication and people skills. Experience with Saas based software products is a plus. Experience with Mortgage or Healthcare industry is also a plus.
