Our client is currently seeking a Sr Research Scientist GIS Geospatial Analyst/Developer This job will have responsibilities
for planning, conducting and coordinating in-house and external GIS support of natural hazards researchQualifications & Requirements:
The position requires at least a Master's degree and experience in Computer Science, Urban Planning, Geography, Civil Engineering, or related field with experience in GIS and a good research track record.
The successful candidate must have experience with ArcGIS software suite (ArcMap, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox, ArcGIS server), both vector and raster data, GIS and technical programming/scripting with python and other languages, automated processing and analyzing, and geodatabase management, and demonstrated ability to deal with large datasets (Big Data techniques).
Applicants must have demonstrated project management abilities and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Desired to have some background in probability and statistics, familiarity with Open GIS such as GDAL (including OGR), QGIS, and familiarity with 3D GIS data and extracting and processing OpenStreetMap data.
Experience with GCM output data formats such as NetCDF, HDF, and Grib is highly prized.Contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
