NINDS Surgical Neurology Branch (SNB) at NIH located in Bethesda, Maryland is looking for a Java Engineer developer responsible for assisting the Clinical Informatics Systems for Trials and Research (CiSTAR) development team with the enhancement to an electronic data capture platform to streamline and assist with SNB research studies. This individual hired for this position is responsible for the requirement analysis, design, development, customization, and support of in-house built Java web applications and/or software, database applications, and other solutions not available in off-the-shelf commercial software required to meet the needs of the SNB and NINDS clinical program. An emphasis will be given on skills for clinical application development to include enterprise level JAVA applications, mobile apps (iOS, Android, Window OS) and API development for integration with the JAVA based data capture platform. Primary development focus will be for the NINDS Surgical Neurology Branch’s immediate needs for the system enhancements.
JAVA software engineers design, develop requirements, identify solutions, provide implementations of mobile application, and support in-house database applications to meet the needs of the stakeholders (clinicians, nurses, research support staff) in the NINDS Surgical Neurology branch, using Agile methodology.
This is a Mid-Level position and must be able to independently design and program user interface, test, implement, deploy, and document all work, to support and maintain non-commercial inhouse mobile apps (iOS, Android, Windows) and JAVA systems.
