Job Description

Cogent Data Solutions LLC (CDS) has an immediate need for BusinessDevelopment Manager based in Los Angeles, CA to help us develop new business opportunites. We are planning to expand our team and looking for agressive sales leader who will make an immediate impact.This is a base plus commission driven position with a tremendous earning potential. 

This candidate will be responsible for targeting key accounts, building relationships with new clients, setting appointments and uncovering new opportunities and helping to grow the business. We are looking for someone that is a team player and go-getter. A successful candidate must have a can-do attitude and be a customer focused person.

Note: Please apply ONLY if you have existing relationships in California, Oregon, Washington regions with demonstrated access to senior level decision makers. IT Staffing Sales is a mandatory. 

ABSOLUTE Requirements for success:

  • More than Five years of previous successful sales experience in a businessto business environment (ideally in IT services, professional services orsolutions selling)
  • Experience selling to small, mid-size and Fortune 1000 corporations 
  • Passion for delivering positive, measurable results 
  • Internally motivated with self confidence and patience and a strong desireto exceed expectations 
  • Must be a highly skilled hunter and/or farmer, highly motivated by aperformance based compensation plan

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and sustain effective new business relationships with clients inorder to leverage and set up effective account management
  • Must have demonstrated ability and maturity to sell and build relationshipswith C-Level executives 
  • Independently handle staffing business & manage the team
  • Identifying prospective clients & create the go to market plan for theidentified territory & industry vertical 
  • Develop and manage sales opportunities from beginning to end includingqualification, proposal, final selection, due diligence and closing
  • Willing to travel 
  • Demonstrate effective negotiation and closing techniques in securingprofitable business 
  • Cultivate, generate & grow large scale relationships for newaccounts. 
  • Generating business from new accounts and have the capability to drive andlead customer relationships into multi million dollar engagements.
  • In addition, also enhancing business from existing accounts achievingconsistent contribution and collection norms,
  • Ensuring high customer satisfaction by working closely with the projectteams and achieving committed service quality 
  • Building credibility and gaining market share in the territory. 

Must-Have Attributes: 

  • Must have existing client company relationships
  • Must be a self-starter and be self-motivated 
  • High Energy and hungry for success 
  • Must have intangibles sales experience 
  • Prior account management experience in the Staffing industry
  • Experience RFP writing 
  • Ability to articulate CDS value propositions
  • Experience with team selling approach


  • Previous experience as a IT Staffing Manager / Business Development Manager with top consulting firm and track record as a Top Performer in your peer group.


  • Minimum 5 years of total sales experience in IT Staffing / SOW.
