Sr. Technical Program Director, Central

The Sr. Technical Program Director, Central, will lead a focused, cross functional technical team to achieve program results for Central Pharmacy products and services. The Central Pharmacy Program will include research, new product development, enhancement, and sustaining project work. This position will be empowered to achieve goals and objectives and manage all aspects of technical projects in the relevant business area, including scoping work, setting priorities, defining schedule, managing project budget, executing work, and reporting results. He or she will be accountable for progress and results, work alongside functional engineering leaders, partner with marketing and other stakeholder organizations, and support the corporate Project Management Office as a senior technical leader. The Sr. Technical Program Director, Central will report to the VP, Robotics & Automation.


  • Lead a team(s) of highly talented engineers responsible for complex, cross-functional product development, including internal and external resources.
  • Collaborate with other internal organizations, including product management, marketing, quality, manufacturing, supply chain, and others to achieve technical program results.
  • Set and manage program budgets, including labor, non-labor, and capital expenditures.
  • Deliver new products to the marketplace meeting requirements, as well as schedule and cost expectations
  • Regularly engages with company and customer executives to develop plans, report progress, assess strategic options, and present decisions for strategic consideration.
  • Quickly and effectively make key operational decisions to best position program and company for success.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Deep leadership, problem solving, communication and relationship building skills, to be able to understand, analyze and partner with internal stakeholders as well as end customers to achieve business results.
  • Flexibility and perseverance, to address broad set of challenges that can be expected from the business and our customers
  • Strong process orientation, to be able to scale business and to define, measure, analyze and improve how R&D functions perform
  • High business acumen and sound judgement to properly manage R&D investment and to effectively balance business needs
  • Action-oriented, pro-active style of working and leadership to drive progress and achieve results. Proven ability to work within project deadlines
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills with an ability to rapidly resolve cross-functional issues.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving and communication skills; able to manage and lead without direct positional authority

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 15+ years' experience in product development
  • 5+ years' experience in an increasingly complex project leadership role

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA and/or other advanced degree in engineering
  • 15+ years' experience in product development in healthcare technology or device industry
  • Strong leadership, problem solving and communication skills; able to manage and lead without direct positional authority
