Being a member of the Business Architecture group, the Data Steward Director will be responsible for establishing, maturing, and driving the implementation of industry-leading data management practices. The ideal candidate for this position is a well-established leader with a solid understanding of Clearing, Settlement and other core DTCC functions, ability to prioritize, own and drive projects, and quickly learn new concepts and frameworks. Success in this role demands the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to shifting priorities. This role is formally accountable for all data and quality in the assigned Information Domain.
Your Primary Responsibilities :
  • Lead Data Steward team involvement in multiple workstreams supporting variety of modernization initiative across the Enterprise
  • Understand current and future enterprise data needs in the context of market dynamics, client requirements and apply insights to recommend short and/or long-term goals for data strategy
  • Champion a culture of data entrepreneurship, reuse and collaboration across business units
  • Formally accountable for alignment to the Enterprise Data Management Office policies and procedures around all aspects of running and sustaining critical data
  • Drive enhancements to the overall Data Stewardship model by being a contributing key member to the Data Management CoE
  • Find opportunities, create business cases, stand up and own roadmaps allowing for the scaling of the Data Stewardship and Data Management capabilities through automation or process changes.
  • Supervise compliance with Enterprise Data Management policy, procedures and standards
  • Support communication, training and awareness of Enterprise Data Management standard methodologies, capabilities and purpose
  • Own the team participation in preliminary data analysis for new projects: resolve whether required data exists within DTCC; identify and detail authoritative sources for existing data; define onboarding plans for new data
  • Lead the team in collaboration with business and operational partners to comprehensively analyze data in order to collect and document required metadata
  • Own the team in collaborative efforts with the data modelers in producing conceptual and logical data models
  • Lead the team in various data quality efforts, such as profiling, creation of data quality and validation rules, identification of data quality issues, root cause analyses and resolution.
  • Independently develop and document project plans, identify resource requirements, and estimate effort for the team's project portfolio
  • Independently lead multiple project teams across assigned projects, through the life cycle from initiation to closing
  • Identify program scaling opportunities and propose both process and tool related scaling solutions; Create business requirements for scaling solutions and work with appropriate partner teams to create execution roadmaps, and supervise and report progress.
  • Lead the team in the effort to define, track, and report on key metrics for identified use cases
  • Craft and deliver clear and concise high-quality presentations to partners and leadership that provide the appropriate level of detail for the intended audience
  • Create effective working relationships and build alignment with business teams, and key domain experts
  • Collaborate with IT, businesses, and functional areas to craft and build balanced data solutions
  • Knowledge of data management processes and standard methodologies preferred
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with data management tools, and business process tools preferred
  • Mitigate risk by following established procedures and supervising controls, spotting key errors, and demonstrating strong ethical behavior

Talents needed for success:
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with Masters or equivalent experience
  • Solid understanding of the Clearance and Settlement Business lines across multiple asset classes
  • Understanding of key aspects of IT software development
  • Technical skills preferred, such as reading data using SQL queries basic understanding of Logical Data Modeling and Database design is a plus
  • Understanding and experience in working in an Agile environment
