Job Description

Menards is looking for a Construction Project Manager to oversee new build and remodel development projects of our stores or Distribution Centers. The ideal candidate will have a passion for design and construction; while also applying their organization to the projects. You will oversee the construction projects from conception to finish; working with construction professionals until the completion of the project. You will also manage building layout and design, material handling system layouts and designs, facilitate upgrades, and developing new project proposals.

  • Site Development and Building Construction, including project management of new site construction and remodeling of existing facilities

  • Layout and Design including preparation of design plans and specifications for manufacturing and distribution warehouse buildings, material handling systems and utilities

  • Prepare bill of materials and write up purchase orders for ordering materials for each project; prepare and submit project estimations

  • Assist in keeping construction jobsites and contractor s work running smoothly with normal operations

  • Take field measurements and grade elevations for construction projects

  • Read and comprehend architectural and mechanical Auto CAD drawings for construction projects

  • Collaborate with the Architect, CAD Designer and construction crew to ensure feasibility of each project



  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Industrial Technology, Construction Management, Construction Engineering or related field of study

  • Ability to read blueprints, structural drawings and plan sets

  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes and equipment

  • Strong computer knowledge; specially Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Strong analytical, consultative, and communication skills; as well as the ability to make good judgment

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate; as well as foster a team-orientated and collaborative environment

  • Must work within designated normal office hours - Monday-Friday, 55 hours/week - at the Corporate Office in Eau Claire, WI (remote work is not offered). Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States, presently and in the future, without sponsorship

  • Required to travel, both by airplane and car, approximately 2-4 days per week

  • Travel is day travel; providing you to be home every night

  • Travel is covered on behalf of Menards
