Job Description


  • Installation of Data stage 11.5, 9.1 in AIX, Linux Platforms
  • Setting up GRID data stage architecture
  • Installation of odbc, Oracle Clinet, DB2 Client, Sybase Client, Netezza Client in the Engine and setting up the connectivity.
  • Queue and configuration setup in LSF
  • Project creation, Deletion, setting up of the project level parameters, NLS configurations, Environmental variables setup in the Data stage Administrator
  • Sound knowledge on the administration of other components of IIS such as Information Analyser, Business Glossary, FastTrack, Metadata Workbench
  • Setting up automated backup of all the IIS components in dsx and isx formats
  • Manage security by the user creation, assignment of roles, and session management in the Information server suite
  • Setting up Security, assigning roles, project permissions in the Data stage Administrator for Datastage user access
  • Migrated jobs through Designer or through command line from development to QA to Production environments.
  • Used Datastage Designer for Importing, exporting projects, Individual components, compiling jobs, Metadata definitions, from and to Repository, managing the parameter set
  • Configuring connectivity to various DB’s from Datastage using odbc drivers, DB2 and oracle native client
  • Configuring and testing the connectivity of the data sources in IA
  • Worked in UNIX shell scripting, for various functions such as maintenance and backup
  • Stop/start the DS Engine, and done regen while changes made in configuration
  • Monitor the job run, managing the logs, Job reset, Job status monitoring in the Datastage Director
  • Monitor the InfoSphere Operations console (Data Stage/Quality Stage) server for I/O usage, memory usage, CPU usage, network usage, storage usage and OS level performance monitoring
  • Configuring and working with WLM in Datastage
  • Performance monitoring of jobs and server using the datastage operations console
  • Kill or remove the file locks, job locks, specific processes or users, removal of temporary files for the improvement of datastage performance
  • Working on PMR’s to identify and fix the issues
  • Clean-up of DSODB through istools
  • Worked on ISA LITE to collect the various diagnostics report
  • Work with various application teams to analyse and tune the jobs for better performance
  • Rebuilding or fixing the corrupted projects using the sync project command
  • Maintenance of the various filesystems used by the datastage
  • Installation of the datastage patches and working on the roll back activity
  • Perform proactive analysis of repetitive issues
  • Perform RCA analysis for Sev1/2 incidents and permanent resolution


  • Communicate with corporate customers via telephone, email, and other electronic communications regarding problems
  • Good leadership qualities
  • Provide leadership in terms of authoring standard operating procedures for quick resolution of tickets
  • Investigation and identification of issues and fix them on priority
  • Quick in resolving elevated tickets
