Title: Senior Java UI Developer

Duration: 8+ Months (with the possibility of extension)

Location: Austin, TX (remote)

Job Description:

As part of Client's IT Applications Medical and Social Services Applications, the worker will perform the following activities to accomplish the following goals:

Performs application development activities for the Community Services Interest List (CSIL) application. Activities will include replacing the existing Java Portlet user interface with a modern, responsive technology such as Angular or React; converting SOAP-based services to RESTful services; and migrating the deployment environment from WebSphere to JBoss EAP.
Provide application support (defect repair, maintenance, and production operations support) for web-based Java applications in an SOA platform. Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, diagnosis and problem resolution. Analyze software for defects and performance tuning opportunities. Develop and test application code to resolve defects and improve application reliability and performance
Other duties as assigned.

8	Required	Hands-on experience participating in all phases of the SDLC (Systems Development Life Cycle)
6	Required	Hands-on development experience implementing applications utilizing any JEE Application Server, Authentication and Authorization, Caching strategies
6	Required	Hands-on programming experience in following languages / technologies: Java, JEE, REST/SOAP web services, HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS, Typescript, Spring, Java Server Pages, JSON, XML, JWT, Maven, OpenAPI v3, OAuth, Postman,
4	Required	Experience implementing Client-facing applications with responsive design and development
4	Required	Experience implementing SPAs with a TypeScript framework like Angular or a JavaScript library like React.
4	Required	Experience implementing REST services supporting client-facing applications
4	Required	Experience implementing REST services security using JWT, OAuth, and other related technologies / standards
4	Required	Experience in development of self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components
4	Required	Experience in Test-driven development and test creation using frameworks such as Karma, Jasmine, Selenium
4	Required	Experience in implementing best practices in the areas of application design, performance, scalability and maintainability.
3	Required	Understanding and experience of fundamental programming concepts of data structures, algorithms, performance, caching and scalability issues in the context of Web based UI applications
