Take 2 is a certified small business IT consulting firm headquartered in Tysons VA that specializes in using the latest technologies in cyber security, apps development, cloud, and data management.  We have over 300 consultants and focus on building relationships to be able to hire and retain the best. The Strategic Program Group at Take2 is looking for fast-paced, well-organized self-starters to support a high-profile project supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. This individual will join a group of cross-functional teams implementing a large modernization effort on a long-term contract. 

Technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) serves as advisor and analyst responsible for supporting the operations of the Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, programs, and clinical processes for OEHRM. The SME works with the Site Technical Liaison to plan, coordinate and organize in-depth analyses, reviews an evaluation of EHR programs, policies, and procedures from a technical perspective. The SME applies a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods to assess complex program processes and systems. The SME position aligns to the Technology & Integration Office (TIO) Pillar and works cross-functionally with the Program Control Directorate (PCD) Pillar and the Program Management Office (PMO).


Basic qualifications:

  • Minimum of 15 years of experience is required. An additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or equivalent.
  • Must be able to create strategies and plans for integration of multiple IT systems/subsystems into an operational unit, ensuring full functional and performance capabilities are retained.
  • Must coordinate with development and user teams to assess risks, goals and needs and ensure that all are adequately addressed.
  • Must be experienced in introducing new hardware or software into a new or existing environment while minimizing disruption and mitigating risks.
  • Must be cost conscience as well addressing goals.


Additional qualifications:

  • VA experience preferred
  • Experience implementing Electronic Health Records over all phase of project life cycle
  • Promote organizational improvement efforts through the development of systems or client enhancements to standard health implementation and/or product development processes, policies, and procedures
  • Able to implement strong program management practices (change requests, issue management, risk/issue mitigation and management and decision tracking) and contributes to standard client implementation methodologies and management best practices
  • Demonstrated experience proactively identifying new problems and preparing solution courses of action by engaging cross-functional (technical, clinical, programmatic) stakeholders
  • Maintains a high-level of confidence and can communicate ideas and influence collaborative decisionsAbility to work independently, collaborate effectively, empower support staff, and require minimal direction in achieving goals
