Job Description

Immediate need for a senior AWS architect, needs to work with multiple teams, architect security policies, manage AWS infrastructure, design next generation platform. Automate AWS management tasks, architect and build Docker/Kubernetes based solutions for analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence applications

Responsibilities

  • Solution architecture and engineering design for data and analytics platform which is based on AWS platform
  • Responsible to manage, maintain and improve the AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Lead our first set of Kubernetes-based rollouts, while setting and adapting standards in security and compliance.
  • Build a strategy meshing industry best practices
  • Providing technical documentation for all initiatives.
  • Work closely with global security team, architect solutions and get them approved from global security team. Create and manage security policies
  • Continuous exploration and recommendation of new technologies and best practices
  • Participation in the development of informatics goals and roadmaps

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years’ experience operating on-prem and cloud infrastructure and applications.
  • Previous “hands-on” experience with design, implementation, operation, and maintenance, of AWS compute, security, storage, logging, and monitoring
  • Comprehensive experience with AWS technologies including solid understanding of S3, EC2, EKS, EMR, Lambda, Redshift, Glue, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, KMS
  • Excellent coding, software architecture design and application integration skills
  • Experience with orchestration technologies (e.g. Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)
  • Experience with container technologies (e.g. AWS EKS, Kuberenetes, Docker, AWS ECS)
  • Experience with Linux systems (Redhat/CentOS or similar distributions) along with system services like DNS/DHCP, NFS, SYSLOG, SSH, SFTP, SSL, etc.
  • Experience building and optimizing big data pipelines using Spark or other similar technologies
  • Experience with Kubernetes security
  • Strong technical documentation skills
  •         Prototyping and developing cloud-native architecture solutions for application needs, particularly with AWS

            Utilizing AWS Cloud services such as EC2, S3, IAM, Route53, RDS, VPC, LAMBDA, SQS, SNS, EKS, Load Balancers, CloudWatch, API Gateway, etc.

            Automating software builds and deployment-to-development and production systems

            Overseeing configuration management and moderating using various automation tools

            Providing infrastructure-as-code utilizing Terraform and AWS Cloud Formation

            Provisioning and maintaining cloud infrastructure that will support training machine learning models over billions of historical data points collected from tens of thousands of retail stores across the US.

            Monitoring and measuring system performance and iteratively push for improvements in this area by introducing new technologies or developing new tools.

            Ensuring that our system meets the highest security standards. Collaborating with a team of security specialists to enforce secure practices across the company.

            Maintaining a high standard of engineering excellence by implementing best practices for software development, testing, and deployment.

            Providing input into long-range platform requirements.

            Intimate familiarity with the DevOps toolkit (Terraform, Ansible, Chef, and other tools).

            Demonstrated understanding of security best practices.

            Deep understanding of CICD Tools, Docker, AWS, Python, Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience applying networking fundamentals and network requirements for a hybrid cloud environment
