Position: AV Tech Specialist (EXTRON)
Location: New Orleans, LA
Duration: 3 - 6 months
Pay: $20 - 30/hr DOE
This position is for onsite assistance only and is responsible for collaborating with our Faculty/Staff management team to deliver an array of customer service focusing on integration and installation assistance in conference & classroom set up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other
AV systems related tasks
Assist with basic mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring
Operate and test daily functionality of all AV and integrated conference rooms
Perform routine testing and problem diagnosis for projectors, microphones, speakers, amplifiers & LCD/Plasma Displays
Troubleshoot AV/V problems last minute as required as well as non-critical situations
Assist with company meetings/functions that require use of AV infrastructure (audio, video conferencing, webcasting, visual display or projection, and control system (AMX, Crestron) operations
Projector and screen support structure installations
Test point to point functionality of systems
Perform client training as needed
Demonstrate job site leadership
Skills and Abilities
Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
Education and/or Experience
Minimum of 4 years of audiovisual installation experience preferred
Formal education in Electronics or related field preferred
Extron AV Associate Certification
