Position is 100% Remote if you live in or relocate to California, Texas, Colorado, Washington, South Dakota or NY

The AWS Infrastructure Architect and AWS Engineer will:

  1. Review the current infrastructure which supports 100+ mission critical services (data pipelines, applications, data storage). Perform an all-encompassing assessment of the infrastructure, create a proposal for the next generation Infrastructure, build POC s and lead the hands-on build out of a new AWS Infrastructure performance, scalability and reliability and eliminate tech debt
  1. Contribute to the vision for the team and the platform as technical leader, identifying new and strategic technologies that improve scalability, reliability, performance and security
  1. Specifically, the AWS Infrastructure Architect/Engineer will evaluate, configure and implement technologies and tools relating to Automation, CI/CD, DevOps, Monitoring, Logging, Backup/Recovery and Security

The current Infrastructure consists of: 100K's of Ubuntu servers running EC2, Stackdriver and CloudWatch for monitoring, Elastic and Fluentd for logging, SaltStack and Kubernetes for Automation, AWS IAM and CloudTrail for Security, AWS RDS, S3 and Redshift and PostgreSQL for data storage (15 PB s of data), AWS Kinesis and Firehouse and Apache Kafka and Spark for the data pipeline and AWS Airflow, ASG, ELB and Kabana

The AWS Infrastructure Architect/Engineer reports to the Sr. Manager of Technical Operations

Requirements:

  • Must have recent experience designing, architecting and building out an AWS Infrastructure
  • Must have expertise in one or more of the following: Automation, CI/CD, DevOps, Monitoring, Logging, Backup/Recovery and/or Security in an AWS environment.
  • Experience with a scripting language i.e., Python, Go, Scala, etc.
  • Experience with any of the following is only a plus; NOT mandatory: Previous experience as a SRE/Linux administrator, Data Pipelines and/or Big Data tools. Again, not mandatory.
