Lead Engineer, Active Directory
The Senior Microsoft Active Directory Systems Engineer will diagnose and resolve complex live system problems and provide critical system architecture support. The individual will be responsible to adhering to industry and organizational security compliance standards and best practices (such as PCI DSS).
What you'll do:
The Senior Active Directory Systems Engineer will utilize experience to specify, design, implement, document, test, troubleshoot and deploy IT system solutions.
The individual will be responsible for working with our system administrators and management staff on day-to-day operations and new project implementations.
Provide 24x7x365 operational support of Active Directory environment
Responsible for building and maintaining Active Directory infrastructure
Ensure the security and compliance of the Active Directory environment
Expertise with full Microsoft stack including AD, DHCP, GPO, DNS, DFS Namespace
Monitoring and performance tuning for both Active Directory and Windows Server operating systems including connectivity, synchronization, replication, net logon, time services, FSMO roles, schema, NTDS database partitions, DNS settings, SRV records, certificate authorities, and trust relationships
Experience in Windows Server install, configuration, and maintenance (Windows 2012, 2016 and 2019)
Experience automating processes using PowerShell scripts.
Analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develops and implements strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
Develop, implement, and maintain corporate standards, policies, and procedures for operating, maintain secure and scalable infrastructure
Experience with VMware and virtualization services
High school diploma or equivalent with prior related work experience required; Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
10+ years systems administration experience
5+ years’ system engineering experience.
5+ years’ experience with Microsoft Active Directory administration (Experience in AD Design, implementation, daily operations, upgrading and migrations).
Experience with design, implementation and maintenance of VMware ESX version 6.5+.
Familiarity with network authentication protocols and tools such as LDAP and Kerberos.
Develops, recommends and executes changes to complex systems.
Typically leads moderately complex projects and participates in larger, more complex initiatives.
Solves complex technical and operational problems.
Acts as a resource for teammates with less experience. May have people management responsibilities for a small team.
Effective communications and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of audit standards and best practices.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Must be able to pass a background and credit checks.
Payment processing or other financial services experience preferred
