In order to enable our associates to grow, P&C Actuarial offers a competitive Exam Support program for associates pursuing their actuarial designations.

As an Actuarial Analyst at State Farm you will:

  • Analyze actuarial ratemaking data and model results
  • Prepare actuarial proposals for management
  • Prepare responses to various requests for actuarial information
  • Develop recommendations on rates and rating plans for leadership and implements changes to satisfy the financial objectives of the enterprise
  • Prepare filings for regulatory authorities
  • Conduct actuarial research
  • Conduct and coordinates rate, rule, reserve, and financial needs studies
  • Meet expectations for CAS (Casualty Actuarial Society) exam progress

Competitive Candidates:

  • Must have passed at least 1 CAS/SOA Actuarial Exam (ACAS preferred for experienced actuaries)
  • Minimum GPA of 3.25 cumulative and in major, 3.5 or higher is preferred *Current students MUST attach an unofficial copy of their transcripts when applying
  • Prior internship (P&C preferred for a trainee position) or other ratemaking or similar experience (P&C for experienced actuaries)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, SAS or other programming languages

Incumbency Period:

There is a 12 month promotional and 24 month lateral incumbency period (beginning on the employee's effective date) that must be met before the employee may apply for other State Farm positions. The incumbency period does not affect the at-will relationship between State Farm and the employee and does not create an employment contract, nor contractual rights.
