Top Required Skills:


Ability to work independently at an office and manage general office tasks (answering phones, sending emails, scanning files, etc)
Exceptional time management skills and meets important deadlines on a daily basis
Must be comfortable working with construction vendor, clients, internal CommScope team members
Proficient in MS Word and Excel

Nice to have skills/preferred skills: Basic understanding of construction industry including permits, reading a map, etc.

The construction administrative assistant helps the Deployment Manager roll out workplace initiatives, as well as administrate daily affairs. Common job requirements include sorting mail, answering phones, taking messages and following up with customers. Administrative assistants also organize meetings, arrange travel, manage records and monitor expenses. Traditional office duties, such as filing, copying, scanning, ordering supplies and overseeing supply reordering, may be required.
In addition, construction administrative assistants help to ensure that project documents are stored in a designated share drive. In addition, the administrative assistant may also be responsible for coordinating activities, such as workshops and meetings, off the job site.

Job Requirements for Construction Administrative Assistant
Due to the high degree of interaction with the public, the construction administrative assistants are expected to have excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal. They need to be team players, familiar with construction and conscientious to time sensitive deadlines. Time management, the ability to work independently will be essential to the success of this role.
The need for a working knowledge of current office practices and software, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel, generally translates to a requirement of five years of experience. The minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or some college courses. Additional skillset that would be helpful would include: ability to read maps, work prints, understanding telephony basics and/ or construction.
The Construction administrative assistant is to support the local Deployment Manager and operate the office in his/ her absence.
Administrative duties to include:
1. Answering phones, taking messages, sending correspondence via email.
2. Uploading documents to shared drives (i.e. permits, as- built prints, invoices for review, etc.)
3. Updating trackers per DM direction
4. Scanning documents
5. Record keeping
6. Sending updates to PM via DM directives
7. Taking notes from meetings/ conference calls
8. Updating PSA per DM direction
9. Fielding construction vendor inquiries when DM unavailable
