Job Description

DTS is looking for Application Support Lead Engineer  for our direct client position in Detroit, MI. 

No third party C2C allowed.  Candidates have to work directly with us on our W-2.


Job Responsibilities

  • Lead application severity incident to quick resolution
  • Provide resolution of any technical issues faced by the application
  • Assign task to team and guide the team in resolving technical issues
  • Participate in technical discussions with the development team for deployment and code reviews
  • Drive knowledge transition from development to sustain team for each functional deployment
  • Lead RCA and SWAT investigations for the Sustain team
  • Take ownership of complex issues following through to resolution
  • Conduct real-time queue monitoring and decision making
  • Represent application requirements for Infrastructure activities
  • Assess, plan and communicate steady state upgrades/patches
  • Participate in Discovery Phase to assist with scoping effort for application teams
  • Devise and develop solutions to meet or exceed business requirements
  • Security Vulnerability Remediation
  • Participate in technical meetings and status meetings with the business
  • Co-ordination between upstream applications to resolve incidents
  • Communicate with several different technology areas in a highly matrixed organization
  • Facilitate day to day execution of real time technical support and troubleshooting
  • Attend CAB Meetings and approve changes
  • Support business continuity and disaster recovery activities
  • Support automation of IT and business processes
  • Support configuration management frameworks and tooling
  • Support data analytics/log analytics and tooling on a per application basis
  • Work closely with application development on early lifecycle initiatives
  • Adhere to standard ITIL processes
  • Implement continual service improvements on a per application basis
  • Other Key responsibilities (enhanced services):
  • Provides guidance in designing solution
  • Champion maintenance of master documents for sustain, Runbook, Playbook, etc., and help maintain accurate application documentation
  • Lead resolution of Sev1 and SEV2 incidents
  • Provides guidance in resolving performance related issues
  • Review and accept the technical documentation
  • Plan for validation and verification of changes deployed by infrastructure teams, development teams and sustain team



  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Fundamental understanding of the Agile SDLC
  • AWS EC2 and Private Cloud management and support
  • Splunk Developer
  • Angular or Node.js Development
  • Git and Bitbucket
  • Confluence
  • Jira
  • Jenkins
  • Senior experience in databases specifically MySQL and AWS RDS technologies
  • Senior experience with Java EE
  • Experience in a similar sustain role and extensive knowledge of associated processes
  • Experience debugging problems in a distributed system
  • Applied experience with Unix and Windows platforms in the AWS cloud
  • Experience working with customers and on support cases
  • Bachelor of Science in a related field (e.g. Computer Science or Information Systems)
