Job Description

Access Services, a non-profit agency serving individuals with disabilities and mental illness, is looking for an Applications Developer to join the IT team at their headquarters in Fort Washington, PA.

Work Schedule: 9 am - 5 pm, Mon - Fri

Position Summary: Provide development, maintenance, and support for high performance, integrated human resources management systems (HRMS), electronic health record software (EHR), financial information systems (FIS), and other software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise involving specific product customization of the HRMS, EHR, FIS, and other software
  • Provide problem resolution and configurations within company business systems software
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with supervisor to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the artifacts as needed to include functional requirements (business requirements documents), use cases, GUI, screen and interface designs
  • Learn each module of the software
  • Possess an understanding of how each program interacts and the key performance indicators that are important to each of the units
  • Perform analysis for how software can better align to business needs
  • Participate in weekly supervision and report on daily progress to the supervisor
  • Utilize SQL Server to assist with reporting requests that the IT department receives; Run monthly reports as well as complete ad hoc reporting when required
  • Analyze the impact of database changes to the business
  • Analyze the impact of value base pay and make changes to billing and clinical module(s) of the EHR
  • Work from a project plan to develop reports, forms, workflows and treatment plans on schedule and in line with software requirements and program processes
  • Work with staff to develop reports and assure software customizing results in fully functioning software that meets user needs
  • Participate in the rotational on-call support system


  • Ability to work as part of a team in a positive, solution-focused, and collaborative manner
  • Ability to explain technical details to non-technical users
  • Willingness to travel to other regional offices as needed
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems management, or engineering required
  • CTFL, CSTE, or Database Fundamentals (MTA) certification preferred
  • 3+ years of related technical experience in software development or other related IT experience required
  • Knowledge of Crystal reports, relational databases
